LexisNexis seeks a recently practicing attorney with at least 5 years of experience in commercial real estate general practice (including but not limited to complex financing, purchase and sales and leasing) to draft real estate forms and how-to articles on transactional real estate matters.

Your roles and responsibilities will be:

  • Research and draft practice notes (articles) on commercial real estate matters across jurisdictions
  • Research and draft real estate forms, checklists and clauses across jurisdictions
  • Review, edit and update existing real estate content
  • Monitor real estate practice area for trends, developments and news
  • Assist in presentations and trainings and interface with sales team and customers
  • Leverage network to recruit practicing attorneys to draft content on complex real estate matters
  • Make recommendations concerning real estate content strategy and expansion
  • 5+ years of experience as a real estate attorney
  • Significant substantive experience in general commercial real estate matters, such as:
    • Complex commercial real estate financing (CMBS, mezzanine, acquisition, construction)
  • REITs and real estate funds
  • Hotel and hospitality transactions
  • Leasing (ground, retail, industrial, office)
  • Commercial purchase and sales
  • Multi-state transactions
  • Real estate development
  • Foreclosures and evictions
  • Experience in residential transactions a plus
  • Proficiency in conducting research (case law, statutory, treatises) on LexisNexis including across multiple jurisdictions
  • Excellent practical writing skills and ability and to follow editorial guidelines precisely
  • Ability to problem solve and complete complex and unfamiliar assignments under tight deadlines and on a continual basis
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
  • Ability to draft articles, forms, clauses and checklists from scratch based on experience and research
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
  • Active bar membership in good standing
  • Law degree from an accredited law school
