Job Description

  • Serve on cross-functional teams and attend business meetings to
    provide legal advice to business partners to mitigate risk and avoid
  • Providing day-to-day direction, strategy and legal advice to the
    business on dispute resolution issues impacting the AB InBevs supply
    chain, marketing, facilities, operations and information technology
    departments, as well as AB InBevs subsidiaries and related entities
  • Collaborate with other in-house counsel in the Legal Department on
    various litigation, dispute-resolution, and litigation-avoidance matters
  • Assess and advise on various dispute-resolution and litigation-avoidance matters
  • Actively engage in all aspects of the litigation process, including
    assessing risk, developing strategy, partnering with outside counsel,
    reviewing pleadings, ensuring compliance with e-discovery requirements,
    and managing budget and costs
  • Work closely awith outside counsel to provide legal support and
    advice in managing the defense of a wide variety of commercial
    litigation matters and governmental investigations
  • Oversee and/or assist with responses to discovery requests and
    preparation and dissemination of litigation holds for commercial
    litigation matters
  • Manage and coordinate AB InBevs responses to a wide variety of subpoenas and third-party requests for information
  • Advise the AB InBevs Risk Management department in connection with general liability litigation matters
  • Assist in preparing witnesses for deposition and trial testimony
  • Prepare for and attend depositions and mediations
  • Draft and review settlement agreements and confidentiality and protective orders.
  • Review and provide advice and counsel to Legal Department colleagues
    on contractual terms relating to indemnification, arbitration, and
    limitation of liability provisions

Job Qualifications

  • J.D. from accredited law school is required
  • Member of the Missouri Bar or eligible and willing to seek admission
  • Minimum of 5  7 years litigation experience in a law firm, in-house legal department, or government agency
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Ability to bring a practical and creative approach to problem solving in a dynamic team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Practical trial experience (e.g., responding to discovery requests,
    handling e-discovery issues, taking/defending depositions, arguing
    pre-trial motions, other trial practice)
  • Experience with product liability, consumer protection, and health-related claims
  • Experience counseling clients on food/beverage/alcohol regulatory issues
  • Experience with disputes outside of the U.S.
