Senior Counsel Corporate Litigation
This Senior Counsel position will report to Amgens Vice President, Law, in the Corporate Litigation Group, which handles all of Amgens litigation matters except for patent and employment law matters, as well as most government investigations. Amgens Corporate Litigation Group covers a number of substantive areas including antitrust, commercial, securities, consumer class actions, and government healthcare program matters.
This Senior counsel role will focus on antitrust litigation and investigation matters, and the provide support on other litigation matters as needed. This antitrust counsel will also provide advice to other law departments at Amgen to evaluate antitrust implications for potential business development opportunities and other Amgen contracting and to obtain Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice clearance on mergers and acquisitions Input on matters of legal policy relevant to antitrust issues in the biotech industry and Amgen will also be expected.
J.D. degree or LL.M. degree from an accredited law school, admission to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction and four (4) years of experience practicing law.
The ideal candidate will have fifteen (15) or more years of experience covering a wide range of litigation, arbitration, and investigation matters for large companies, with litigation and counseling experience focused on antitrust experience in particular. Experience with how intellectual property laws and antitrust law intersect would be valuable. Similarly, prior case and counseling experience in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry would be helpful. Prior litigation or job experience with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is a plus.
This position will be based at Amgens corporate headquarters in Thousand Oaks, CA.
