Arconic is currently in search of Counsel, Commercial to join the team in Pittsburgh, PA.

Counsel provides advanced legal advice and services to the leadership of the Company, its businesses and its resource units.

Candidate has experience with complex corporate transactions and sophisticated commercial work with knowledge of the associated laws and regulations (e.g., FAR, DFAR, intellectual property, trade compliance, CFIUS, Hart Scott Rodino). Candidate has a proven track record of successfully negotiating and documenting transactions with various customers, including aerospace and automotive OEMs and defense prime contractors and successfully supporting clients in the resolution of disputes with such customers.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage and address sophisticated commercial work from beginning to end.
  • The ability to assist with and/or lead complex corporate transactions.

  • The ability to effectively advocate legal positions and provide balanced, risk-based advice
  • The ability to clearly communicate in an influencing manner that garners the support of others
  • The ability to work with and work through the engagement of others (including cross functional teams) to accomplish objectives and to achieve the highest quality results and impact
  • The ability to build trust and cooperation with internal customers, clients, peers and external partners in order to get his or her job done effectively
  • The ability to develop and mentor other lawyers
  • The ability to recognize and address organizational barriers as necessary to drive results
  • The ability to develop and implement programmatic improvements
  • Has high integrity, alignment with Company values, well developed substantive knowledge and business acumen

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law institution
  • Membership in the Pennsylvania Bar or ability to obtain admission
  • Minimum of 7 years of demonstrated experience with complex corporate transactions and sophisticated commercial work with strong knowledge of the associated laws and regulations (e.g., FAR, DFAR, intellectual property, trade compliance, CFIUS, Hart Scott Rodino). Candidate has a proven track record of successfully negotiating and documenting transactions with various customers, including aerospace and automotive OEMs and defense prime contractors and successfully supporting clients in the resolution of disputes with such customers.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
