Job Introduction: (Primary purpose of this position)
This position is part of the legal
technical compliance organization within MBRDNA and is responsbible for technical
compliance efforts at MBRDNA and across affiliated entities. The position works
closely with engineering colleagues and other lawyers in the United States and
Germany. The position is expected to
contribute to the successful performance of MBRDNA by providing sound legal
advice regarding vehicle compliance and regulatory matters facing the Company.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

Responsible for supporting ongoing
implementation and effectiveness of technical compliance management system
(tCMS) for MBRDNA and affiliated entities.
Provide legal and compliance advice related to state and federal legal and
regulatory topics including but not limited to safety, emissions, vehicle compliance,
and other product-related topics.
Provide legal guidance regarding emerging technologies including software
compliance related to CASE (Connected, Autonomous Driving, Shared Vehicles and
Electric).
Provide legal advice regarding topics related to state and federal vehicle
and engine certification (gasoline, diesel, and electric), working closely
with the certification department.
Support legal technical compliance team in establishing and maintaining
relationships with key MBRDNA stakeholders based in Sunnyvale, CA.

Qualifications

Required
Qualifications

  • Minimum level of
    education required and required field of study:

    Juris Doctorate Degree from a United
    States Law School.

  • Minimum skills
    required :

    At least seven (7) years of
    experience in professional roles with focus on legal and regulatory compliance
    topics.
    Proven track record of working closely with internal and external business
    partners
    Excellent legal research and writing skills.
    Analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Will accept
    equivalent work experience in lieu of formal education

  • Combination of
    Degree and Years of experience acceptable (minimum) :

  • Juris Doctorate Degree from a United
    States Law School.
    At least seven (7) years of experience in professional roles with focus on
    legal and regulatory compliance topics

Admitted and
in good standing to practice law in at least one US Jurisdiction and eligible
to practice under Rule 9.46 of the California Rules of Court.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior automotive or technology experience is
considered a plus factor.
Prefer experience working for or with international companies.
Skills in the German language would be an asset but are not required.
