SUMMARY

Nexamp is a leading renewable energy company with a rapidly-expanding national footprint, focused on distributed-generation solar and battery storage projects as developer, EPC provider and asset manager. The position will provide legal support for Nexamps project acquisitions function with a strong focus on acquisition documentation and diligence, as well as commercial contracts. The position offers the opportunity to be part of a growing legal department and expand the role to support other business units as needed. Additional responsibilities will also include managing outside counsel and driving internal processes surrounding the acquisition, development and construction of solar and storage projects. This role requires a detail-oriented, organized, and energetic self-starting team member with a strong legal background in the solar and storage industry, mergers & acquisitions, or both.

RESPONSIBILITIES

All legal aspects for the acquisition of solar and storage projects, including membership interest purchase agreements for a single asset or a portfolio of projects.

Post-acquisition legal support for development, construction, and financing process.

Contributes to the development and improvement of contract templates and internal deal processes.

Role can be expanded to supports the development of projects through the engineering, procurement, construction and financing phases, including contractor agreements and other commercial contracts.

QUALIFICATIONS

Law degree from an accredited law school.

3-5 years legal experience required, preferably in a law firm setting. Strong experience in either solar and storage or mergers & acquisitions is required. Specific experience in renewable energy projects is preferred, but candidates with strong backgrounds in mergers & acquisitions are also encouraged to apply.

Ability to work in a highly team-oriented environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously with little supervision.

Excellent commercial judgment and written and oral communication skills are required.

Occasional travel may be required.
