Job Purpose

To provide legal advice and representation to AIG and the Insured in NY and NJ Workers Compensation legal matters while minimizing legal and indemnity exposure.

Key Job Responsibilities

Draft legal pleadings and perform research; Handle all aspects of the defense of the claim from preparation of the initial pleading through conclusion of the case; Negotiate settlements on behalf of the Insured and prepare all necessary agreements; Handle all necessary discovery including depositions; Handle all necessary court appearances including hearings, motions and trials; and Compliance with AIG Litigation and Management Guidelines including written communications with Claims Partners;

We are looking for

Minimum of 5 years NY & NJ workers compensation file handling and trial experience; Strong and effective communication skills; Ability to interact effectively with clients, Claims Partners and peers; Detailed knowledge of NY & NJ Workers Compensation Statutes, Regulations and Case Law; Knowledge of the NY & NJ Workers Compensation Rules and Procedures; Ability to litigate all cases, regardless of complexity; JD Required: Must be admitted and licensed to practice law in NY and NJ.
