The Supervisory Sanctions Investigator serves under the direction of one of the three Assistant Directors in the Office of Global Targeting (OGT), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-15. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
– Serve as the Supervisor, overseeing the designation target investigations, analysis and development in one or more program areas which may include, e.g., counter-narcotics, counter-proliferation, counter-terrorism, country- and regime-based programs, as well as petitions and FOIA requests.
– Coordinate the interagency process and liaison effort with USG enforcement agencies, the Department of State, the Department of Justice, the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense and the intelligence community for the purpose of identifying and developing sanctions targets, information regarding targets, and the coordination where appropriate of interagency review of such targets or coordination with the actions of these agencies.
– Coordinate OFAC's involvement with foreign government authorities and other agencies in designation cases within their area(s) of responsibility.
– Provide technical and administrative direction to a staff composed of investigators and analysts. Provide full range of technical and administrative supervision.

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
For GS-15, you must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience must demonstrate ALL of the following:
-Coordinating civil investigations and preparing documents to support administrative actions that are governed by regulations concerning U.S. economic sanctions and embargo programs based on delegated Presidential authority. AND
-Applying administrative laws, including procedures, regulations, guidelines, and precedents to designation cases and the development of targets for designation. AND
-Analyzing issues, developing findings, and determining conclusions by applying regulatory requirements to prepare evidentiary documents. AND
-Conducting evaluations, examinations, or other fact finding studies to obtain or verify information (e.g., research of administrative, program, or legal issues and application to facts). AND
-Leading, managing, administrating, and supervising principles, policies, practices and methods; leadership experience that reflects ability to effectively plan, develop, administer, manage section programs, and coordinate a diverse team.
For the GS-14, you must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience must demonstrate all of the following:
-Coordinating civil investigations and preparing documents to support administrative actions that are governed by regulations concerning U.S. economic sanctions and embargo programs based on delegated Presidential authority; AND
-Applying administrative laws, including procedures, regulations, guidelines, and precedents related to designation cases and the development of targets for designation; AND
-Analyzing issues, developing findings, and developing conclusions by applying regulatory requirements to facts for the preparation of evidentiary documents; AND
-Conducting evaluations, examinations, or other fact finding studies to obtain or verify information (e.g., research of administrative, program, or legal issues and application to facts).
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.
For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
