Health Care Attorney
The Permanente Medical Group, Inc. (TPMG) is the largest multi-specialty group practice in the nation with more than 9,000 physicians and more than 35,000 non-physician employees, and a 75-year tradition of providing high quality, cost-effective medical care to our patients. TPMG currently provides care to more than four million patients in Northern California as part of the Kaiser Permanente Medical Care Program.
The attorney in this role will provide legal advice and counsel to TPMGs physician leaders and other executives, managers, and administrators. The successful candidate will have significant experience in diverse areas of corporate and commercial law within a health care environment, including health care regulatory and policy compliance, intellectual property, clinical research, some commercial litigation management experience, privacy, and complex contract review, drafting and negotiation.
The ideal candidate will have at least 8-12 years of experience advising a health care system or systems, as internal or external counsel, with a significant employed and/or contracted physician component, extensive experience identifying and helping to resolve health care regulatory issues, and a demonstrated understanding of physician/hospital/health plan relationships. Proven strong client service, project management, problem solving, negotiation, change management, and both written and verbal communication skills are essential.
The successful candidate will have a JD, be an active member of the California State Bar, or within one year of employment, either become a member of the California State Bar or become a California Registered In-House Counsel.
