This position is responsible for performing legal secretarial support for the Corporation Counsel, Deputy Corporation Counsel and Assistant Corporation Counsels.
Days: Monday – Friday

Assist in the preparation of correspondence.
Assist in the preparation of petitions, orders, annual reviews, complaints and other pleadings.
Finalize all legal opinions.
Read and evaluate written text for grammatical and typographical errors.
Evaluate the dimensions of page elements such as images, text spacing, and positioning to ensure they conform to set specifications.
Process eFiling documents through the Circuit Court eFiling website.
Coordinate all incoming and outgoing mail.
Answer telephones and greet visitors.
Maintain department files.
Serve as Notary Public.
Maintain office supplies and maintenance requests.
Photocopy various documents.
Maintain department library.
Understand and maintain confidentiality requirements.
Demonstrate a commitment to county safety and risk management efforts.

High school plus two additional years of formal preparation, and two to three years of relevant prior experience. Proven experience in ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals as well as ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Proven experience with legal terminology and preparation of legal documents.
