This position is part of the General Counsel, Government Publishing Office in Washington , District of Columbia.
The Selectee will work shift 1 Monday- Friday and a tour of duty from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.

As an Attorney Adviser (General), your typical work assignments may include the following:
The applicant selected for this position will represent the GPO in administrative hearings and also provide assistance to the Department of Justice attorneys representing the GPO in Federal courts. In addition, the selectee will perform, but not limited to the following duties:
Provide legal advice and litigation support for a full range of procurement matters from acquisition planning through contract administration. This includes supporting contracting officers in negotiations and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) processes to resolve contract disputes. When necessary, represent the GPO in defense of protests to the contracting officer, protests filed with the Government Accountability Office and in appeals to the Government Accountability Office Contract Appeals Board.
Provide legal advice and litigation support for a full range of personnel law maters and represent the GPO before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and the Merit Systems Protection Board. (MSPB).
Perform a wide range of legal work for the agency. Substantive areas may include employment discrimination, adverse actions, government contracts, fiscal law, personnel law, environmental law, constitutional law, tort claims, and responses to information request from the public.
Occasional travel – You may be expected to travel for this position.
