Asset and Development Project Manager
Headquarters – Walter Reed, WASHINGTON, DC, US
Under the supervision and close collaboration with the Vice President of Affordable Housing, the Asset and Development Project Manager will be involved in multiple aspects of the real estate practice including asset management, financial analysis, lender/investor reporting, acquisitions and portfolio management.
Implement Asset Management best practices of existing portfolio through oversight of property management agents: review monthly reports, develop capital replacement schedules, analyze proposals/scope of work for capital improvements at portfolio properties, schedule periodic inspections of portfolio properties, monitor regulatory compliance in relation to capital funding sources.
Utilize Project Management techniques for oversite of communities in the development pipeline and any capital projects at existing properties.
Attend all meetings of projects in the development pipeline
Attend all meetings of existing communities with development partners, third party management and Program Case Management staff
Management of third party vendors (surveyors, environmental firms, architects, contractors, suppliers) as needed
Progress Reporting (prepare progress reports for the board, partners and others monitoring the project)
Work collaboratively with Development Team (including outside consultants, contractors and development partners) and other members of Housing Up to ultimately provide the best quality housing for our clients/residents.
Highly organized. Able to manage several projects and tasks within the projects working with all parties needed to ensure success.
EDUCATIONAL & WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree or related education and training in real estate development, urban planning, construction management, asset management, business and/or housing finance
Minimum of five years direct experience in development, financing, or project management of affordable housing development projects. Asset Management experience a plus.
Preference for candidates who have depth of understanding in the following areas: 1) real estate finance 2) affordable housing development 3) construction management and 4) asset management
Knowledge of MS Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Valid drivers license and vehicle is required, as well as proof of auto insurance
May require some weekend and evening hours
