Role Summary/Purpose

The Senior Counsel, Digital & Analytics for GE Healthcare Digital will be a key member of the legal and compliance leadership team for the GE Healthcare Digital business and will be responsible for providing strategic legal support regarding business initiatives and complex transactions, including technology licensing, data and analytics, clinical partnerships, business development, software development, commercial engagements and related matters.

Essential Responsibilities

The Senior Counsel Digital & Analytics will act as business counsel supporting the GE Healthcare Digital business. GE Healthcare Digital is leveraging the potential of data and analytics to bring our customers actionable insights across the healthcare system and the care pathway, enabling better clinical and financial outcomes.

In the role of Senior Counsel, Digital & Analytics you will:

 Be an active business partner, applying combined business and legal judgment to proposed deals, relationships and other issues requiring legal or compliance attention.

 Advise the GE Healthcare Digital business on commercial, regulatory, litigation, data governance, privacy, improper payments and advertising/promotional matters.

 Structure and negotiate strategic business transactions, including inbound and outbound technology licensing, software development, cloud deployment, professional services and clinical partnerships.

 Work with the GE Healthcare Digital team as a legal advisor and partner to identify strategic opportunities to drive growth, including digital transformation, analytics, cloud, software-as-a-service (SaaS) and data strategy.

 Design and conduct strong communication and training programs to drive employee awareness about key risks and legal and compliance initiatives in GE Healthcare Digital.

 Collaborate with regional legal colleagues and subject matters experts to advise the business on complex legal/compliance issues that arise out of GE Healthcare Digitals global operations.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • JD (or global equivalent) with active bar membership and excellent academic credentials.
  • Seven (7) years of business law experience at a large law firm or corporate legal department.

Desired Characteristics

  • A strong commitment to integrity and professionalism, solid judgment and a passion for excellence.
  • Experience handling IP-related issues arising in software and technology transactions.
  • A working knowledge of global privacy and data protection laws.
  • Experience in the Healthcare industry and previous exposure to medical industry regulations.
  • Experience prioritize competing demands to make real time decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Record of successful teamwork, strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
