Responsibilities

  • Plans, manages, organizes and directs the Division's involvement in pre-market discussions including participation in the review of real-world evidence to support regulatory decision-making.
  • Assists the Director in accomplishing the mission of the Division as well as addressing and solving unusual and often precedent setting problems associated with the Division programs.
  • Develops and implements Division policies and plans and makes critical decisions and provides expert advice.
  • Counsel concerning approaches and options that are sound and feasible in relation to Office and Center goals and objectives and Federal budgetary and economic realities.
  • Develop and make recommendations for the enhancement and improvement of the mission and functions of the Division and/or Office.
  • Develop written correspondence to Division Director and other Stakeholders to assess and determine the direction necessary to meet strategic goals relative to the mission and function of the organization.

Qualifications

The position of Supervisory Health Science Administrator falls within the 0601 occupational series. To qualify for this position at grade GS-15, you must meet Time-in-Grade requirements by 11:59 pm EST on 01/01/2021.

Basic Requirement : Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (https: ope.ed.gov/accreditation/) at the time the degree was obtained.

Minimum Qualification: GS-15, You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 in the Federal Service to include: developing drug safety and post market surveillance guidance, providing regulatory advice on post-marketing reporting regulations and guidance, consulting on post-marketing drug safety initiatives, and leadership in activities through participation on working groups and other activities. (This experience must be documented in your resume). Volunteer experience can be used as qualifying experience.

Time-in-Grade: Any individual who is currently holding, or has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet time-in-grade requirements (must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent in the Federal service). Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

In accordance with Office of Personnel Management policy, federal employees are assumed to have gained experience by performing duties and responsibilities appropriate for their official series and grade level as described in their position description. Experience that would not normally be part of the employee's position is creditable, however, when documented by satisfactory evidence, such as a signed memorandum from the employee's supervisor or an SF-50 or SF-52 documenting an official detail or other official assignment. The documentation must indicate whether the duties were performed full time or, if part time, the percentage of times the other duties were performed.
