The LFS Claims Analyst/Advocate will be a key member of the LFS team and will be responsible for handling a variety of LFS claims administrative, analytical and technical functions. Working closely with lead client Account Executive.
Duties to include:
  • Review and analyze potential claims
  • Review documents or description provided by client
  • Evaluate any policies that may be triggered
  • Identify potential coverage issues/exclusions
  • Report claims
  • Report using the claim reporting emails and variation of standard letter. Check the policy for correct reporting email addresses
  • Track each claim to make sure that the insurer responds and issues a coverage position
  • Review coverage position letters to determine if we disagree with the position taken by the insurer
  • Follow up and request changes for obvious errors
  • Report Insurer¬Ěs position to AE to discuss next steps
  • Provide updates to insurers as required
  • Follow up with insurers to ensure coverage positions issued
  • Notify excess insurers of underlying coverage letters and track follow form or other reservation of rights positions
  • Coordinate reimbursement and/or payment of fees and expenses
  • Make sure that insurer is timely paying invoices and bills that it is required to pay
  • Negotiate with insurers over reimbursement
  • Legal background/experience: paralegal, licensed attorney or bar exam candidate
  • Insurance knowledge or insurance claims experience a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills required
  • Strong reading and writing skills required
  • Ability to complete continuing education requirements as needed
  • Ability to attend company, department, and team meetings as required, including industry training sessions
  • Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures, proactively protecting confidentiality of client and company information
