<strong><u>EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:</u></strong> In order to qualify for a Biologist, GS-401 position you must meet the following Education Requirements:<br />
<strong>A.</strong> have completed the requirements for a bachelor's (or graduate) degree in a biological science, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to this position, from an accredited college or university;<br />
<strong>OR</strong><br />
<strong>B.</strong> have a combination of experience and education which includes courses comparable to a major in a biological science, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry or related disciplines appropriate to this position, AND I have appropriate experience or additional education which demonstrates similarly appropriate skills or abilities needed to perform the duties of this position.<br />
<br />
<u><strong>GS-7:</strong></u> In addition, in order to qualify at the GS-7 level, you must:<br />
<strong>A.</strong> have completed one full year of graduate level education;<br />
<strong>OR</strong><br />
<strong>B.</strong> meet one of the requirements for superior academic achievement based on a) graduating within the upper third of the graduating class in a college, university, or major subdivision such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses; b) having a grade point average of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 as recorded on your official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; OR c) being elected for membership in a national scholastic honor society;<br />
<strong>OR</strong><br />
<strong>C.</strong> have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: assisting in conducting and setting up laboratory experiments; performing specific procedures and techniques in the biological sciences as directed by senior staff within a laboratory; and assisting in the maintenance of laboratory facilities by checking current inventory of supplies in the laboratory and ordering appropriate required materials;<br />
<strong>OR</strong><br />
<strong>D. </strong>have a combination of post baccalaureate education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.<br />
<br />
<u><strong>GS-9:</strong></u> In addition, in order to qualify at the GS-9 level, you must:<br />
<strong>A.</strong> have completed 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree;<br />
<strong>OR</strong><br />
<strong>B.</strong> have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: performing experiments in accordance with approved methods and procedures ; preparing detailed plans for experiments and procedures to be performed; analyzing experimental data and drawing tentative conclusions and using and maintaining a variety of laboratory instruments and ensuring laboratory equipment is calibrated and in working order;<br />
<strong>OR<br />
C. </strong>have a combination of post baccalaureate education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.<br />

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.<br />
