Nevro is currently seeking a Managing Counsel. This individual is responsible for overseeing and managing Nevro’s (i) Corporate Compliance and Ethics Program both domestically and internationally and is responsible for the promotion of an on-going culture of compliance and prevention of illegal and unethical conduct and (ii) commercial contracting function. He/she will have excellent communication skills and act as a change agent to engender a culture of compliance within the company. This position will report to Nevro’s General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer and will have the opportunity, over time, to grow into the Chief Compliance Officer role.

JD degree plus 8 years of relevant experience required.Manage a team of four that oversees the Company’s commercial contracting and compliance functions.Develop and manage the company’s compliance program, strategies, plans and budgetsImplement and periodically review/update written policies and procedures, including the company’s Code of ConductMaintain an effective compliance communication program for the organization, including promoting: use of the compliance hotline; (b) heightened awareness of Code of Conduct, and (c) understanding of new and existing compliance issues and related policies and proceduresDevelop and execute on annual audit/monitoring planRespond to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and Code of Conduct by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedure; collaborate with other departments to direct compliance issues to appropriate channels for investigation and resolutionRoll out and lead effective training programs across sales and other functionsMonitor activities of departments to remain abreast of the status of compliance activitiesProvide reporting to senior management and lead quarterly compliance reviewsEmbody Nevro’s cultural values by aligning daily actions with department goals and company culture

Experience in the development, initiation, maintenance and revision of policies and procedures for the general operation of a compliance program and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical or improper conductExperience in and knowledge of industry standards and regulations for and risks facing a global medical device company, including anti-bribery, anti-corruption, 3rd party distributors, anti-kickback, off-label promotion, etc.In-depth knowledge and understanding of compliance risk management practices and methodologies, including risk assessment, monitoring/surveillance and testing activitiesMulti-geographic experience preferredStrong commercial contracting experienceStrong project management skills, including managing and prioritizing multiple concurrent projects, managing budgets and resources and reporting progress and risks to colleagues and senior managementExperience in conducting investigations and managing the entire investigations process, including the management and tracking of the investigation lifecycle and the close-out processAbility to act as a clearinghouse for compliance lessons learned and best practicesExperience in developing and maintaining effective lines of communication, including the management of a compliance hotlineExtremely detail oriented with strong analytical, written and verbal communication skillsManagerial experience preferred#LI-AL1
