We are looking to fill an Associate Counsel/Counsel position that will be responsible for addressing tax, qualified plan and general administration issues with life and annuity products, including issues resulting from trusts, POA’s, QDRO’s and other special situations. Will also assist with the development of traditional fixed and fixed-indexed annuity contracts, and administrative forms and processes.
Provide legal counsel, including legal research, analysis and professional services in assigned areas of law.Advise on annuity contract and life policy administration, tax, retirement plan and other issues.Address new business and policy administration questions regarding grantor and non-grantor trusts, powers of attorney, guardianships and conservatorships, death claims and similar issues.Develop and maintain expertise in assigned areas of law.Develop and maintain knowledge of company products, operations and procedures.Participate in product development process and advertising review.Participate in development of and updates to administrative formsDevelop working knowledge of business systems and processes used to perform the functions of the job.
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school is required.Must be admitted to practice law in Ohio and in good standing.Strong math aptitude is required.Must have strong writing skills. Previous experience drafting contracts is desirable.Seeking candidates with 0-5 years of experience in relevant areas of law including taxation, trusts and powers of attorney.
