Do you want to make a difference?  The City of Greenbelt, a progressive and diverse community of over 23,000 residents is looking for a Human Resources Director with the upcoming retirement of its current Human Resources Director. The person in this position will be responsible for promoting a positive and equitable workplace to support employee wellness and morale for a diverse workforce of over 250 full time and part-time equivalent employees who provide high quality municipal services 24-hours a day, seven days a week  the number of employees grows to over 400 individuals seasonally  providing guidance, support, recommendations and consultation with other senior leadership and employees at all levels of the organization on strategy including implementation of recruitment of City positions to engage a diverse applicant pool and support the needs of a multi-cultural community, departmental and Citywide goals and priorities.  Supervises employees, overseeing administration of compensation and benefits, employee development, wellness, risk management, retention and training as well as ensuring compliance with local, Federal and State personnel law.  Maintaining employee personnel records and files.  Serves as the Citys ADA Coordinator.  Participates on collective bargaining negotiations.  Attends local, state, and regional meetings representing the City.  Conducts classification and compensation analyses and surveys.  Conducts annual reclassification.   Negotiates various benefits and employee services through the Citys insurance broker. Knowledge of FLSA regulations, FMLA, COBRA and EEOC requirements and all applicable labor laws required.  Demonstrated knowledge and experience of public information and records regulations, as well as work with law enforcement, public works, recreation, development and finance desirable.  Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Human Resources Manager, Public Administration, or a related field; and, seven to ten years of progressively responsible related experience.  IPMA Human Resources Certified Professional desired and/or SHRM-CP.  To view the job specification, benefits summary and to apply, log onto  A City of Greenbelt application is required.
