Come join the non-profit organization, helping consumers make informed choices about video games and apps. The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) is the self-regulatory body that assigns ratings for the video game industry. The Board is seeking a Senior Counsel of Legal Affairs and Enforcement to oversee all aspects of the ESRB and the International Age Rating Coalition (IARC) legal affairs, including governance, enforcement, contracts, and intellectual property matters. This exciting opportunity is located in New York City, NY.
As sole internal corporate counsel for the ESRB and the International Age Rating Coalition (IARC), the Senior Counsel will draft and negotiate all vendor, license and partnership agreements and manage ESRBs trademark portfolio. This legal expert will also manage ESRBs enforcement and compliance system, including the investigation, analysis, and tracking of violations of ESRB rules and requirements.
Qualified candidates will have a JD from an ABA-accredited law school plus a minimum of four years of legal experience, particularly in contract drafting and negotiation. ESRB is seeking candidates with experience in negotiating, drafting, and reviewing complex agreements and knowledge of corporate, governance, nonprofit, and contractual issues. This position requires strong project management skills and a familiarity with legal and regulatory issues impacting the video game industry. Experience in video game or related industry is preferred.
