About the Position: This position is with the Office of General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel -Operations and Personnel, located at the Pentagon, Arlington Virginia.

- Serves as legal advisor to Army General Counsel, under the supervision of the Deputy General Counsel (Operations and Personnel).
- Develop guidance and advice on the interpretation of legislation, case law, and regulatory developments in the field.
- Assist in the oversight of the adjudication of administrative appeals submitted pursuant to the Privacy Act and Freedom of Information Act.
- Provide oral and written advice and technical legal guidance to Army senior leaders and other key officials.
- Serves as principal legal advisor to the Army Secretariat on Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Privacy Act (PA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) privacy issues.
Occasional travel – You may be expected to travel up to 10% for this position.

Qualification Requirements: Applicants must meet the following minimum qualification requirements:
Education: An applicant must have successfully completed a full course of study in a school of law accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) and have the first professional law degree (LLB or JD).
Bar membership: Applicant must currently be a member in good standing of the bar of a state, territory of the United States, District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Document should be dated within three months of the date the application is submitted.
Experience: Applicant must have 3 years of professional legal experience, acquired after being admitted to the bar, commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position.Graduation from an ABA-Accredited Law School in the top 25% of the class or an advanced law degree such as a Master of Laws (LLM) may substitute for one year of the required professional legal experience.
