Description of Duties and Responsibilities

 Manage the Companys claims, litigation, quality and environmental matters, either directly or through the retention and oversight of outside counsel, to generate successful outcomes. Provide periodic reporting to senior management regarding the status of same.
 Oversee the monthly legal accrual reporting process and partner with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts regarding same.
 Assist in providing U.S. and international employment law advice and counseling.
 Develop and present topic specific trainings, including conducting training for internal stakeholders.
 Assist in the development and implementation of HR processes and policies to address legal and compliance needs.
 Support health & welfare benefits, retirement benefits, and compensation teams.
 Provide sound legal advice and counsel to Southwire in complex and diverse matters affecting day-to-day operations by assisting, advising, investigating, researching and resolving legal matters.
 Partner with the business to assess legal risks and develop strategic solutions to protect the Companys interests.
 Effectively oversee outside counsel, including developing strategies which align with and achieve the Companys strategic business objectives, coordinating with the appropriate Southwire subject matter experts, and defining the Companys desired outcomes.
 Manage a high-volume of legal projects.
 Communicate key information to necessary stakeholders to ensure parties are properly informed.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

 The ideal candidate will have a diversified background in commercial litigation management and employment law. The ideal individual is someone who thrives in a fast paced, team oriented professional group. Outstanding communication skills (both orally and in written form) and the ability to meet deadlines are a must. The ideal candidate will have the following:
 Excellent academic credentials including a J.D. and state bar membership in good standing in at least one state.
 At least 7 years of prior relevant professional experience.
 Experience partnering with business managers and providing leadership at a growing company is highly desired.
 An individual who is approachable, trustworthy and dependable with exceptional interpersonal skills; possesses superior intellect, with the ability to think critically and make clear and well-reasoned decisions; possesses a strong, pragmatic business acumen with the ability to recognize the broader consequences of legal advice; and is a strategic and innovative thinker who can deliver value to clients and find creative solutions to complex legal problems.
 An individual who can deal effectively with strategic issues as well as tactical operational details, exercise sound judgment, and work independently as well as collaboratively and efficiently under time pressure.
