Job Description and Duties
The State of Californias Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) has an exciting career opportunity for a Tax Counsel III (Specialist) within its Litigation Bureau. The Tax Counsel III (Specialist) will handle or assist in handling all aspects of litigation matters. Responsibilities of a Tax Counsel III (Specialist) within the Litigation Bureau include applying and interpreting complex and sensitive tax laws and regulations; litigating tax and fee, bankruptcy, and collection disputes; reviewing and preparing legal documents; developing litigation strategies; preparing for trial; providing consulting; and other professional legal work and job-related activities.
The position will be located in one of the two offices based on the location of the selected candidate (Norwalk Office or Sacramento Headquaters Office). The position will report to the Litigation Bureaus Assistant Chief Counsel, who is located in Sacramento.
