The Role

The Corporate Counsel is responsible for negotiating and drafting a broad range of complex commercial contracts and management agreements, with oversight from the General Counsel, overseeing and managing contracting for Levys outside vendors, and overseeing and managing Levys intellectual property and liquor license compliance. The Corporate Counsel will have a direct reporting relationship to the General Counsel.

Responsibility

  • Directly negotiating, drafting, and advising on commercial contracts and management agreements on Levys behalf, with oversight from General Counsel.
  • Partnering with New Business team in responding to RFPs.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable liquor laws, including overseeing liquor license program for the Company.
  • Drafting and advising on all types of contracts, including but not limited to contracts related to intellectual property, nondisclosure agreements, and other commercial issues.
  • Drafting and advising on various service-related contracts, including but not limited to contracts with all outside vendors, including temporary service agencies, non-for profit organizations, subcontractors, and licensees, as well as other commercial contracting issues.
  • Ensuring compliance with Levy policies, including overseeing contracting compliance for Levys outside vendors.
  • Identifying and assessing legal risks and opportunities within areas of responsibility and educating clients and business partners accordingly.
  • Overseeing compliance with subpoenas and information requests.
  • Independently handling legal matters or projects.
  • Recognizing when the advice of more senior counsel or outside counsel is appropriate.
  • Advocating companys interests in assigned matters.
  • Serving as an indispensable partner to location management.
  • Ensuring adherence to time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience

  • 3+ years of legal experience at law firm or in-house position
  • A strong background in commercial contracts

Skills & Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school, including active bar membership
  • Demonstrated superior collaboration and relationship building skills
  • Outstanding critical reasoning and analytical skills, punctuated with common sense
