We offer an exciting opportunity to provide legal and occasional regulatory advice to Credit Suisses market leading fund financing team which, offers complex financing products to major hedge fund, private equity fund and fund-of-fund counterparties. The legal teams role includes the critical review, drafting and negotiation of secured credit agreements, collateral documentation, control agreements, and ancillary documents for financing transactions collateralized by hedge fund portfolios, private equity fund portfolios, or fund investor uncalled capital commitments.
Learn the basics of different fund financing structures and learn how to review, draft and negotiate commercial agreements, with guidance and support from senior members of the legal team. Your responsibilities will be matched to the skills you learn as you grow in the role and in your career. You will have the opportunity to work closely with junior and senior business team members on a frequent basis. We run certain transactions entirely in-house and manage outside counsel on other transactions. The legal team works in a collaborative manner with support from a dedicated document support team and other corporate functions.
Your role in General Counsel requires exercising a challenge and control function in respect of the business team (in particular as regards applicable Credit Suisse polices and standards), raising issues appropriately and in a timely manner, and exemplifying the firms conduct and ethics standards. The legal team also supports to General Counsel initiatives, knowledge management projects and in working to maintain legal standards and common approaches. Open to discussing flexible/agile working

Your skills and experience
List of skills and experience encouraged in an applicant:
- Equivalent work experience of at least 1-4 years as a lawyer admitted to any states bar
- For this role, admitted to the NY bar is essential
- Confident with ability to communicate optimally at all levels
- Basic knowledge of credit agreements and Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code preferred
- Thrive in working in a coordinated environment
- Ability to optimally prioritize multiple projects and meet all timeframes
- Ability to distill and focus on key legal, regulatory and documentary issues and identify appropriate solutions to a range of legal and regulatory issues
