Our Opportunity:
CSIM Technology is aligned to support the technology needs of Charles Schwab Investment Management Inc. CSIM is the investment advisor for Schwab?s proprietary mutual funds, referred to as the Schwab Funds; and includes Schwab?s exchange-traded funds, referred to as the Schwab ETFs?. With over $360bn in assets under management, of which $345bn are managed on a discretionary basis and approximately $15bn on a non-discretionary basis CSIM is the 3rd largest provider of index funds and the 8th largest provider of money market funds.
What you?ll do:
This is a Web/Micro Services cloud developer role based in Denver, CO in the Architecture and Frameworks team in CSIM Technology. The role involves building application frameworks and services layer for our Strategic Data strategy, SEC regulatory support, Data warehouse, CSIM technology applications and integrations. It includes building and realizing the strategy for the teams to support the dynamic needs of the CSIM business. This role also includes building the platform to support the operations, finance, performance, and policies / controls teams with a focus on improving the software quality, platform and technology service provided to the CSIM business.
The individual will be playing a pivotal role in the development and integration with investment management solutions and SaaS applications. Key part of the job will involve software design and implementation of new interfaces and integrations to third party systems leveraging integration best practices. The candidate will be building proprietary applications where a competitive advantage can be gained and integrating and managing industry leading vendor software to provide a cohesive, flexible platform which can scale effectively for future business growth.

Qualifications & Experience:

A university degree from a well-respected academic institution; advanced degrees in Information management, Computer Science, and/or other professional certifications are a plus
Strong API and web services (REST/SOAP) development experience, JSON, XML
Strong experience in Pivotal Cloud Foundry application development technologies
Hands on experience in designing, developing and deploying cloud-native enterprise applications in public or private cloud
At least five years? experience participating in the software development lifecycle leveraging the latest methodologies and industry applicable technologies, fluent in C# or Java
Experience working and designing large software systems, particularly distributed systems and architectures, knowledge of integration design patterns
Experience with PaaS (Cloud Foundry is a plus) or SaaS application development and integration
Experience coding with Mule Enterprise Service Bus
At Least 5 years of experience creating web services that can be consumed by other applications and by business analytics
Experience or knowledge with Cloud Foundry, AWS or Azure
Strong ability to design, code and debug applications in various software languages
Experience in web-based systems architecture, service-based architecture, enterprise application architecture
Experience with message queuing technologies like RabbitMQ or JMS
Experience or knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
Proven record of delivering technology solutions within agreed upon timeframes
Prior financial services experience is a plus
