Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as civilian Legal Advisor to Headquarters, United States Central Command, Joint Intelligence Center, Subordinate Commands and Security Assistance Offices, on Freedom of Information Act, Privacy Act, investigations and general administrative law areas. Responsible for administering actions taken on behalf of the 4-star Commander to resolve, issues involving access to information in Command records.

Responsibilities

  • FOIA and Privacy Act Attorney: Provides oral and written legal advice and technical legal guidance to key officials and, upon request, to subordinate organizations and task forces concerning all aspects of Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act.
  • General Administrative Law: requirements as determined by the Staff Judge Advocate may be required to provide oral or written legal advice concerning any issues pending legal review.
  • Investigations: Provides substantive legal advice to the Commander, Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff and Command directorates on the disposition of investigations.
