<b>Duties</b><br /><br /><b>Summary</b><br /><br />The incumbent in this position serves as the Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) for the Chief Information Officer, Justice Management Division.<br /><br />This vacancy will be filled using the Office of Personnel Management's Direct-Hire Authority. For more information on OPM's authorization of Direct Hire Authority, please visit, http: archive.opm.gov/DirectHire/ .<br /> Learn more about this agency <br /><br /><b>Responsibilities</b><br /><br />The OCIO has responsibility for 1) Setting overall information technology (IT) strategy for the Department of Justice in accordance with the priorities set by the President and the Attorney General and in support of the broad law enforcement community; 2) Overseeing the engineering, design, acquisition, implementation, and operation of the Department of Justice technology infrastructure and services, including IT processing, facilities, and telecommunications; 3) Establishing and maintaining Department-wide policies, standards, and procedures for automated information processing and computer network security; and 4) Coordinating, planning, developing, implementing and assessing major applications and office automation capabilities for end users in the Department.<br /><br />As Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) GS – 2210 – 15, your typical work assignments may include the following: As needed, additional positions may be filled using this announcement.<br /> As an Information Technology Specialist GS – 2210 – 15, your typical work assignments may include the following: <ul> <li>Serves as the senior expert in the field of IT security to agency management officials;</li> <li>Implements agency-wide information security, workforce training, and security audit programs.</li> <li>Implements IT security requirements as directed by laws, regulations, and Presidential directives;</li> <li>Serves as the senior technical enterprise architect advisor to agency management officials;</li> <li>Provides technical oversight and direction for the management and administration of knowledge collection, cataloging, management and distribution of information;</li> <li>Formulates and administers controls and management processes for IT investment decisions; and</li> <li>Participates in the development and implementation of congressional-executive level policy changes that impact the agency computing resources requirements.</li> </ul> <br /><br /><b>Travel Required</b><br /><br />Occasional travel – You may be expected to travel for this position.<br /><br />Supervisory status <br /> No <br /><br />Promotion Potential <br /> 15 <br /><br /></li> <b>Requirements</b><br /><br /><b>Conditions of Employment</b><br /><br /><ul> <li>Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.</li> <li>Must complete a Background Investigation to include drug testing and credit reports.</li> <li>Selective Service Registration is required, as applicable.</li> <li>If selected, you may be required to completion a one year probationary period.</li> </ul> <br /><br /><b>Qualifications</b><br /><br /><strong>You may qualify at the GS-15, if you fulfill the following basic qualifications: </strong>You must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service including: <li>Develop and implement IT security program policies and procedures;</li> <li>Develop long-range strategies and milestones for IT projects;</li> <li>Develop and implement agency-wide project management procedures, tools, and infrastructure; and</li> <li>Implement plans and procedures to accomplish human capital objectives.</li> <strong>In addition to meeting basic qualifications</strong>, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 2210 series. <li><strong>Attention to Detail</strong>: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.</li> <li><strong>Customer Service</strong>: Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.</li> <li><strong>Oral Communication</strong>: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.</li> <li><strong>Problem Solving</strong>: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.</li> You <strong>MUST</strong> meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.<br /><br /><strong>YOUR RESUME MUST</strong> support your responses to the online questionnaire.
