The American Enterprise Institute (AEI), a public policy think tank in Washington, DC, seeks an entrepreneurial, service-oriented team player to become our next Salesforce administrator. The Salesforce administrator will help improve business practices across the Institute through the configuration, support, training/adoption, maintenance, and improvement of our CRM platform. <br /><br />Primary responsibilities include developing custom features and functionality, designing custom reports and dashboards, optimizing the user interface, developing forms, promoting user adoption, and managing data. <br /><br />We are searching for someone enthusiastic about the Salesforce platform who understands how to use it to solve all types of business problems. The ideal candidate will have two to four years of Salesforce administration and configuration experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with both technical and nontechnical individuals, are crucial. A demonstrated background in developing complex reports and dashboards is required, using both native Salesforce functionality and third-party reporting apps. A highly organized, service- and detail-oriented personality with strong logic, analytical, and problem-solving skills is essential. Salesforce administrator certification is preferred but not required. An interest in public policy and a commitment to the principles of expanding liberty, increasing individual opportunity, and strengthening the free enterprise system are beneficial. <br /><br />This position is on-site at AEI headquarters in Washington, DC. Qualified candidates should submit an online application at www.aei.org/jobs , complete with a resume and cover letter. <br /><br />Responsibilities : <br /><ul><li> Administer and support daily a Salesforce environment with 150+ users </li><li> Guide future development of the Salesforce system along with a cross-functional Salesforce steering committee </li><li> Develop, implement, and modify custom features and functionality, using workflow rules, process builder, and flows; custom fields and objects; rollups; page layouts; and email notifications </li><li> Design, optimize, and automate custom reports and dashboards using native Salesforce reporting tools and other reporting apps, including Apsona and Report Builder </li><li> Optimize the user interface with native Salesforce page layout functionality and a third-party app, Skuid </li><li> Develop Salesforce-integrated forms for use with events, mailings, and applications, using FormAssembly </li><li> Manage data, including imports, lead management, and duplicate management </li><li> Support and optimize system integrations with Marketo and YouTube </li><li> Stay up to date on Salesforce release notes and features </li><li> Manage user security settings and permissions </li><li> Promote user adoption through training and mentoring new and existing users, guiding topics and developing presentations for internal user group meetings, and cultivating a team of power users embedded across AEI business and research departments </li></ul><br /><br />Qualifications : <br /><ul><li> Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience </li><li> 2–4 years of experience in Salesforce administration and configuration, preferably in a nonprofit environment </li><li> Strong reporting background using standard Salesforce functionality and other reporting apps and tools </li><li> Demonstrated understanding of the Salesforce platform with the ability to build and maintain custom objects, fields, workflow rules, processes, flows, page layouts, email notifications, and other functions </li><li> Detail oriented with strong logic, analytical, and problem-solving skills </li><li> Ability to work independently and part of a team, on multiple projects simultaneously </li><li> Excellent communicator with strong written and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated experience in communicating technical details in a nontechnical manner </li><li> Service-oriented, experienced facilitator of cross-functional initiatives, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues at all levels of seniority and technical ability </li><li> Interest in learning and developing skills with new Salesforce-connected apps </li><li> Certification as a Salesforce administrator is preferred but not required </li><li> Background with business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Google Data Studio will be helpful </li><li> Experience with the Salesforce API will be helpful </li></ul><br /><br />About AEI <br /><br />The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) is a public policy think tank dedicated to defending human dignity, expanding human potential, and building a freer and safer world.
