They develop, influence, maintain, sustain, and govern standards-based models and methods in order to enable the creation, sharing, and use of data and products across the Agency and within the National System for Geospatial Intelligence (NSG) and Allied System for Geospatial Intelligence (ASG). The<br /><br />Learn more about this agency <br /><br /><b>Responsibilities</b><br /><br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Architects are responsible for applying a structured approach to collection and integration of data and information about business processes, mission functional needs, and current and in-development IT (Information Technology) solutions across the NGA (National Geospatial Intelligence Agency), and then using these data to form architecture products to guide investments and development efforts across NGA. This position will be the Lead Data Architect, developing and maintaining standards and respective baselines that enable the creation, sharing, and use of data and products across the Agency and within the National System of Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG) and Allied System for Geospatial Intelligence (ASG). The person will represent the Agency's interest in national and international standards forums, define performance and evaluation criteria that assess compliance with a standard, and work with mission partners to create and establish standards implementation practices which achieve target levels of interoperability. The person selected for this position will lead a dynamic team of government and contractor experts in the life cycle management of Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) data interoperability standards, in response to specific capability requirements from both within NGA and across the NSG and ASG, managing the development lifecycle and interaction across those teams. The selectee will develop and manage a program of work ensuring the development of relevant, agile core GEOINT standards that meet the objectives of the NGA Strategic Vision 2025. In addition, the selectee interfaces collectively across the NGA as well as with members and partners of the NSG and ASG to create an open and agile standards-based architecture, enabling NGA's Strategic Vision 2025. The selectee will represent NGA's GEOINT interests in various standards development organizations and standards setting organizations at the federal, national and international levels. This position is eligible for a RECRUITMENT INCENTIVE: The selected candidates may be offered a recruitment incentive as part of the offer of employment, based on budget availability. To receive the incentive, the selected candidate must sign a service agreement for up to 2 years depending on the approved amount of the incentive. Failure to comply may negatively impact continued access to Top Secret information, Information Systems, SAP, and/or unescorted access to SCIFs.<br /><br />NGA utilizes all processes and procedures of the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Non-executive NGA employees are assigned to five distinct pay bands based on the type and scope of work performed. The employee's base salary is established within their assigned pay band based on their unique qualifications. A performance pay process is conducted each year to determine a potential base pay salary increase and/or bonus. An employee's annual performance evaluation is a key factor in the performance pay process. Education: Bachelor's degree in Geodetic Science, Geographic Information Systems, Information Science, Mathematics, Physics, Remote Sensing, or a related discipline. -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of college coursework in any area listed in option A, plus experience in drafting standards, assessing processes and procedures against criterion, preparing technical documentation, coordinating technical issues with stakeholders, or in a closely-related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the tasks associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of college work is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals 4 years. -OR- C. Experience: Six years of experience in drafting standards, assessing processes and procedures against criterion, preparing technical documentation, coordinating technical issues with stakeholders, or in a closely-related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the tasks associated with this work.<br /><br />DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired: <br /><br />1. Understanding of an Analytical tradecraft and how the various analytic disciplines inter-relate to satisfy mission requirements. 2. Detailed understanding of analytic products and data, GIS programs, databases. 3. Knowledge and experience in working with data and/or imagery specifications, and an understanding of their relationship to the NGA, military, and/or civilian customers. 4. Knowledge of Standard Development Organizations (e.g. ISO, OGC, DGIWG, etc.) and their relationships to both government entities and industry. 5.
