Job Overview:  

Theideal Creative Director will provide leadership to the team and be the go toresource for all creative ideas and direction. Be able to unify and lead thedepartment as a company resource.

CreativeServices Director will implement and utilize highly creative vision and talentsto oversee all creative output.  Willlead a team of innovative designers, in collaboration with our writing,digital, marketing, and client services teams, to produce to provide exceptionalmessaging, products, innovative designs for integrated, multi-platform useacross McDermotts digital, and print media to both internal and externalcustomers. 

KeyResponsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Ensureall creative materials are aligned with the overall visual identity andstrategic goals

  • Overseethe creative workflow process keeping it current and efficient

  • Developand manage creative ideas and concepts

  • Preparecomprehensive creative strategies which result in desired outcomes for theclient utilizing creative brief direction, offered from Marketing andCommunication team members, internal clients, and the design team

  • Partnerwith Marketing, Corporate Communications, Events and other internal departmentsto develop, enhance and implement efficient processes and procedures whichproduce a quality product

  • Assistwhen needed in assigning and scheduling projects to appropriate individuals;prioritize and direct workloads; manage product workflow

  • Provideguidance and creative direction to designers

  • Prioritize,track, handle and maintain records of elements, costs, and time schedules formultiple projects.

  • Manageand assist team to meet deadlines

  • Managehardware and software resources for department; stay current on latesttechnology

  • Buildstrong relationships with clients and other departmental teams

  • Assistin maintaining and updating materials and presentations for client touchmeetings

  • Overseefinal assembly of produced projects into completed design to ship to client forfinal approval. i.e. Annual Report

  • Mentorand coach design team to enhance their level of performance and develop theirskills

  • Conductyearly performance evaluations and provide performance feedback on a timelybasis.

  • Providecreative direction, oversee, update and maintain company website

Basic Qualifications: 

  • A minimum of ten years of designexperience, including a minimum of three years of design for the Web anddigital media

  • A minimum of 5 years managing andleading a team of designers

  • Experience as a Graphic Artist andIllustrator

  • Demonstrated expertise with visualidentity and branding

  • Knowledge of related technologies, suchas collaborative workflow systems, digital asset and content management toolsi.e. Asana

  • Knowledge of applicable intellectualproperty, image permissions, copyright and trademark requirements

  • Bachelors in visual design, digital arts or a related field (equivalent professional experience will be considered).
  • Strongmanagement and leadership abilities

  • Ableto motivate others; give clear and specific instructions to team and to others

  • Strongpersuasion and presentation skills

  • Strongverbal and written communication skills

  • Stronginterpersonal skills

  • Successfulin fast paced environment with multi-tasking skills; well organized

  • Proficientin Creative InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. Knowledgeable with CreativeCloud suit
