As General Counsel, you will work with departments and project teams across the Company’s divisions in Development, Construction, Property Management and Hospitality. You will also advise the executive team and senior leaders on real estate and general corporate matters, as well as manage outside counsel as needed.

We are looking for an attorney who can:

Provide legal advice related to land acquisition and development, including drafting contracts and related documents, performing title and survey review, environmental due diligence, analyzing zoning and other entitlement issues, and consulting and coordinating with outside counsel as necessary
Provide legal advice related to leasing and property management
Review and revise subcontractor documents and resolve related disputes
Effectively manage subcontractor and related lien issues that may arise for General Contractor
Advise executive team on risk and compliance matters
Travel overnight as needed
Stay current on regulatory, compliance and legal issues related to our business lines
Demonstrate the ability to manage work efficiently and meet deadlines
Effectively communicate complex legal issues at all level of the organization
Collaborate on creative solutions that align with our mission and core values
Be a self-starter and constantly improve and protect the organization
Evaluate, recommend, and manage necessary insurance coverage across business lines
Supervise the collection of accounts receivables for Property Management Clients
Assist outside counsel with litigation or court appearances as needed
You are:

Admitted to practice in Texas
A graduate of an ABA accredited law school holding a Juris Doctor
Excellent at written, interpersonal and oral communication
Proficient in time management
Calm under pressure and able to meet tight deadlines
Able to execute on tasks assigned to you
Experienced in real estate law
Proficient in Microsoft Office and are familiar with web applications for project tracking and cloud storage
You might have:

2 years or more of experience in a real estate attorney role with a law firm
Experience managing and drafting documents related to Property Owner Associations
Construction law experience
Experience working across multiple industries
Experience in a fast-paced environment
After hours availability as needed
