The Role:
Contract: 2 years
Location: Houston and Sabine Pass

REPORTS TO: Quality Manager

MAIN FUNCTIONS
• Position supports the LNG Plant and Pipeline scopes
• Provide Non-Destructive Examination expertise to the Project Team
• Highly specialized, technical liaison between Project Team and Contractors’ and Suppliers’ Non-Destructive Examination personnel
• Monitor Non-Destructive Examination processes and perform surveillance activities as required
• Keep Quality supervision updated with status of quality issues
• Support evaluation and mitigation of Quality risks for high criticality areas such as Golden Welds and Critical Site Repairs
• Support Quality training activities

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide leadership / expertise in Non-Destructive Examinations and make judgments and decisions for technical and physical adequacy of contractors’ and vendors’ Non-Destructive Examination personnel and, associated equipment and systems
• Develop, write and validate procedures for inspection and for testing / examining components
• Review and evaluate Contractors’ and Suppliers’ Non-Destructive Examination procedures and records for accuracy and adequacy
• Witness critical, complex Non-Destructive Examination procedure qualifications
• Provide qualification testing and training for complex Non-Destructive Examination techniques
• Generate, review, and revise operational procedures for inspection and test equipment
• Leverage Non-Destructive Examination expertise in the resolution of non-conformances as required
• Monitor the development, submission and review of contractors’ and vendors’ Non-Destructive Examination procedures to ensure final approvals do not delay start of the work
• Interface with Engineering to provide inspection and testing expertise in development and review of welding procedures and welding procedure qualifications
• Support project with specification, method, inspection activity, and/or examination technique recommendations; travel to construction and/or fabrication site when requested to review and offer technical advice for compliance with specified requirements
• Provide early warning of potential quality problems and the expertise to avoid / resolve them

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• High school graduate or equivalent; college degree in a related field is preferred
• VT, PT, MT, RT AND UT Level III Certified by an independent agency to ASNT standards
• 15 years’ experience in the development and application of Non-Destructive Examination procedures in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemicals industries
• Demonstrate a high level of expertise in selected discipline
• Technical qualification or certification in discipline as specified at time of staffing request
• Must be proficient in common PC software (MS Word, MS Excel, etc)
• Read, write and speak fluent English with strong management, leadership and communication skills
