Design, develop and support the effective implementation of AFS’ legal & regulatory compliance program. Navigate new and complex requirements to develop risk assessments, policies, communication and training. Advise on interpretation and application of legal and regulatory compliance requirements and ethics matters. Design engaging and motivational compliance leadership messages.
- US Citizen
- JD + minimum 5 years relevant legal experience
- Experience implementing, evaluating or counseling clients regarding compliance programs in a regulated industry
- Excellent communication and counseling skills
- Ability to effectively assess relevant trends and lead internal initiatives to enhance AFS’ Ethics & Compliance program
- Active bar membership
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Experience in design, implementation and test of compliance programs for a federal contractor
Solid understanding and appreciation of U.S. regulatory compliance issues (e.g., anticorruption, data privacy, procurement integrity, mandatory disclosure, competition law, revolving door, conflicts, FAR, DFAR, cost accounting, etc.)
Experience counseling clients on business ethics matters
Ability to inspire confidence in business clients
Ability to work as part of a team in a highly-productive environment (e.g., work collaboratively with colleagues and share knowledge)
Ability to handle challenging issues from beginning to end
Exemplary written and verbal communications skills
Ability to independently manage drafting documents, training, correspondence, policies, and procedures
Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may be required for this role.
