<b>Duties</b><br /><br /><b>Summary</b><br /><br />The selectee for this position will serve as an Aircraft Worker in the Production Trades Branch of the Aircraft Department, Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) Mid-Atlantic (FRC Southeast Deatchment, Oceana) in Norfolk or Oceana, Virginia.<br /> Learn more about this agency <br /><br /><b>Responsibilities</b><br /><br /><ul> <li>You will work below the journeyman level applying standard and specific procedures to accomplish tasks of limited complexity.</li> <li>You will overhaul and repair a wide variety of aircraft systems and components which includes pneudraulic/hydraulic, fuel tanks, flight control, rotor drive, gear boxes, rotor heads and rotor blades.</li> <li>You will remove major aircraft components of aircraft structure or systems, such as control surfaces, doors, hatches, landing gear assemblies, and control cables.</li> <li>You will correct problems by removing , cleaning, reinstalling, or replacing defective parts, such as bad actuators and corroded fuel lines.</li> <li>You will look up replacement parts in manuals or compare with samples.</li> <li>You will conduct pressure and obstruction tests of fuel systems and check pneudraulic/hydraulic systems after repair on aircraft.</li> </ul> <br /><br /><b>Travel Required</b><br /><br />Occasional travel – You may be expected to travel for this position.<br /><br />Supervisory status <br /> No <br /><br />Promotion Potential <br /> 8 <br /><br /></li> <b>Requirements</b><br /><br /><b>Conditions of Employment</b><br /><br /><ul> <li>Must be a US Citizen.</li> <li>Must be determined suitable for federal employment.</li> <li>Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.</li> <li>New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
