<b>Duties</b><br /><br /><b>Summary</b><br /><br />This position manages the maintenance and operations of the agency's security information and event management (SIEM) in order to meet the continuous diagnostics and monitoring (CDM) and national institute of standards and technology (NIST) requirements and ensures that SIEM is continuously collecting audit information for use in bureau's record retention requirements and reporting appropriate information to Treasury's CDM dashboard.<br /><br />Learn more about this agency <br /><br /><b>Responsibilities</b><br /><br />As an IT Specialist (INFOSEC), you will:<br /><br />- Function as the security accrediting authority representing the Information System Security Manager on Certification and Accreditation efforts.<br /><br />- Independently analyze the access controls for automated systems and the methods of storing, copying, transmitting, and destroying data.<br /><br />- Analyze and monitor the organization's compliance with Federal, Treasury, and TIGTA security standards and guidelines.<br /><br />- Conduct formal on site program evaluations of complex information processing centers which process unclassified, but sensitive, information and prepares formal reports on findings and recommendations.<br /><br />- Conduct quantitative and qualitative security risk analyses to determine the opportunity for an impact of destruction, disclosure or manipulation of protected data, and provide minimum standards for safeguarding information.<br /><br /><b>Travel Required</b><br /><br />Not required<br /><br />Supervisory status <br /> No <br /><br />Promotion Potential <br /> 13 <br /><br /></li> <b>Requirements</b><br /><br /><b>Conditions of Employment</b><br /><br /><ul> <li>Please refer to "Conditions of Employment."</li> <li>Click "Print Preview" to review the entire announcement before applying.</li> <li>Must be U.S. Citizens or U.S. Nationals.</li> </ul> <br /><br />The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service . To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.<br /><br /><b>Qualifications</b><br /><br />You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. <br /><br /><strong>Specialized experience:</strong> For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:<br /><br />- The application of security principles to information systems; AND<br /> – Developing and maintaining information security policies and procedures; AND<br /> – Ensuring government information systems are in compliance with the Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002 (FISMA); AND<br /> – Coordinating responses and actions to FISMA security audits.<br /><br />In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must also show proficiency in 1) attention to detail, 2) customer service, 3) oral communication, and 4) problem solving.<br /><br /><b>Education</b><br /><br /><b>Additional information</b><br /><br />- We may select from this announcement or any other source to fill one or more vacancies. <br />- This is a non-bargaining unit position.<br />- We offer opportunities for flexible work schedules.<br /><br /><strong>CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT</strong>: <br />- A one year probationary period may be required.<br />- Must successfully complete a background investigation.<br />- Top Secret – Background Investigation will be required. <br />- You will be required to regularly report to the Duty Station listed above.
