<b>Duties</b><br /><br /><b>Summary</b><br /><br />The <strong>Economist</strong> position is in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Regulation Policy and Management (00REG), Office of the Secretary, located in Washington, DC. Specialized experience is work performed in the public or private sectors in developing regulatory impact analyses to include the compilation of regulatory accounting statements; gathering project formulation data to include an analysis of economic research/findings; conducting economic research utilizing various methodologies; monitoring compliance with various laws; interpreting proposed legislation to include providing a cost analyses and long range planning on the impact of such legislation.<br /><br /><strong> Note </strong>: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social).
