(Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.)<br /><br />This position is located at Fort Lee DFMWR Cardinal Golf Course.<br /><br />To better expedite the hiring process, we recommend including full contact information (name, address, phone number, email, etc.) for professional and personal references on your resume.<br /> Learn more about this agency <br /><br /><b>Responsibilities</b><br /><br />The major duties of the position include but not limited to the following; <ul> <li>Operate heavy powered equipment performing tasks that require prior work experience and training that include ground maintenance on grades and slopes, digging ditches and trenches, washing buildings using high pressure sprayers, operating tillers to prepare lawns for sod and bedding plants, and cutting trees using axes or chain saws. May be exposed to adverse weather conditions when working outdoors.</li> <li>Possibility of bruises, muscle strains, cuts and scrapes</li> <li>Required to follow safety procedures and use standard safety equipment such as gloves, ear protectors, safety glasses, etc as needed to avoid serious injury</li> </ul> <br /><br /><b>Qualifications</b><br /><br />Qualifications of the position include: <ul> <li>Knowledge of the processes, which require remembering directions and/or sequences</li> <li>Knowledge and skill in the operation, control, and cleaning of heavy, power equipment (single-function power lawn mowers with one or more cutting decks and mechanical controls, chain saws, jackhammers).</li> <li>Knowledge to work safely with heavy tools (axes, picks, tampers, chain saws, etc)</li> <li>Skill in performing routine operator maintenance and adjusting the cutting height of blades of power mowers or in operating weight handling devises when moving heavy loads</li> </ul> <br /><br /><b>Education</b><br /><br /><b>Additional information</b><br /><br /><ul> <li>Manual Application: If you are unable to apply online, you may submit your application package using a manual application method.
