<b>Duties</b><br /><br /><b>Summary</b><br /><br />This position is part of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. The incumbent will be responsible for assessing the management, operational, assurance and technical security controls implemented on an information system via security testing and evaluation methods.<br /> Learn more about this agency <br /><br /><b>Responsibilities</b><br /><br />As a IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/PLCYPLN) at the GS-2210-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: <ul> <li>Develops, supports and implements DTRA's systems security Assessment and Authorization (A&A) requirements and processes, in accordance with the DoD Cybersecurity Risk Management Framework (RMF), ensuring the Cybersecurity based A&A of DTRA systems and networks. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the 13 grade level in the Federal service: <ul> <li>Assessing the management, operational, assurance, and technical security controls and assessment of information technology (IT) systems and projects through security testing and evaluation (ST&E) methods.</li> <li>Conducting information gathering and use of IT security tools; providing technical security guidance to system owners for system change requests and engineering projects; communicating security information to senior leadership and agency officials; developing security policies, standard operating procedures, and implementation plans.</li> </ul> <br /> Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
