Incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties: however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities</li> <li>Position may require a background security investigation to determine suitability for employment and/or a security clearance</li> <li>Assumes responsibility of the supervisor in their absence.</li> <li>May be required to work overtime to meet special workload demands.</li> </ul> <br /><br /><b>Qualifications</b><br /><br /><strong>SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE</strong>: Applicants must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes a thorough knowledge of medical administrative duties to include case management, health care benefits, a broad knowledge of medical terminology regulations in support of various medical organizations and functions. (To be creditable, specialized experience must meet the above quality level requirements.)<br /><br /><strong>OR<br /><br />EDUCATION:</strong> Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degreeor LL.B. or J.D., if related. Education must demonstrate the KSAs necessary to perform the duties of the position. NOTE: If you are applying based on education, a legible copy of your college transcripts identifying institution name and location, type of degree awarded and date conferred is required: NOTE OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE FURNISHED UPON APPOINTMENT.<br /><br /><strong>OR<br /><br />COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:</strong> Combining Experience and Education: Equivalent combinations or successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet the experience requirements.<br /><br /><strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): </strong>Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: <ul> <li>Knowledge of medical operations and management principles, policies and procedures and a comprehensive knowledge of medical plans, programs and requirements.</li> <li>Knowledge of medical service mission, organization, programs, and functions to include carrying our medical training and administrative programs to ensure medical mission can be effectively accomplished.</li> <li>Knowledge of a wide range of technical/professional medical administrative concepts, theories, procedures and techniques, as well as specialized knowledge of wartime medical operations and missions.</li> <li>Knowledge of medical planning and programming concepts and a thorough knowledge of squadron's medical mission, equipment specifications (Allowance Standards) and operational parameters.</li> <li>Knowledge of medical administrative programs in order to conduct studies, analyze findings and make recommendations on substantive program changes within the squadron.</li> </ul> <br /> <strong>PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE</strong>: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
