<b>Duties</b><br /><br /><b>Summary</b><br /><br />This position is located in the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden (HMSG) Smithsonian Institution. The applications that meet the basic qualifications will be evaluated further against the following criteria:<br /> <ul> <li>Ability to develop exhibition designs for a major modern and contemporary art museum.</li> <li>Knowledge of safe handling & display methods for a variety of art objects.</li> <li>Ability to prepare a variety of design drawings and specifications.</li> <li>Knowledge of software applications used in exhibition design (CAD, Photoshop, graphic design and layout programs).</li> <li>Skill in project management and coordination.</li> <li>Knowledge of contracting and procurement for exhibit design and production.</li> </ul> <br />Applicants who meet or exceed minimum qualifications will be assigned to one of three category groups based on job-related criteria: Best Category – Meets the minimum qualification requirements and excels in most of the job related competencies above. Better Category – Meets the minimum qualification requirements and satisfies most of the job related competencies above. Good Category – Meets the minimum qualification requirements, but does not satisfy most of the job related competencies above to a substantive degree.
