Data Link Network Engineer
Key Role:

Design and develop moderately complex voice, data, and multi-media communications network solutions for an airborne environment. Analyze network topologies, traffic, and capacity requirements by examining potential information exchange requirements. Incorporate the capabilities of next-generation transmission, switching, and routing equipment, including software defined networking (SDN) principles. Specify router configuration for airborne gateways. Ensure network integration across all its air and ground components, including ATM, IP routers, circuit switches, traffic shapers, cache servers, and airborne- and ground-based gateways. Document network design, topology, and procedures for cost and performance analyses. Apply in-depth professional-level knowledge to independently solve a full range of complex problems and serve as a trusted go-to person by management.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with designing communications network solutions that operate in or with an airborne environment, including Link 16 or Common Data Link-based networks

-Knowledge of airborne network design topologies, including Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) and Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA)

-Ability to perform well on a team and work with other systems engineers, operational experts, and government clients

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with designing advanced routing features for airborne networks, especially the application of mesh and mobile ad hoc networks

-Ability to apply advanced or emerging techniques to the unique environment of air-to-air and air-to-ground communications

-TS/SCI clearance

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

We're an EOE that empowers our people-no matter their race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, veteran status, or other protected characteristic-to fearlessly drive change.
