<p>Are you interested in covering the nationwide movement to reform America’s modern-day equivalent of “debtor’s prisons”? Looking for the research and best-practices driving efforts to end the fines and fees that have turned courts into revenue-producing machines at the expense of the poorest Americans?</p>

<p>John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York is organizing a two-day Reporting Fellowship on Sept. 26-27 aimed at bringing journalists in touch with the leading players in this issue.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Selected fellows will receive all-expense paid accommodation and travel to New York for the conference. Working journalists who write, broadcast or report online for U.S.-based outlets are eligible to apply.</p>
