Job Description

  • Collaborate with our HR team and Corporate Audit team to advise on the full range of employment, labor, and immigration law issues
  • Collaborate with our HR team to develop, advise, and implement HR policies, practices, and procedures, and to develop and conduct training on a variety of labor and employment issues regarding federal and state laws
  • Advise and lend expertise on hiring, performance management, compliance, benefits, and if necessary, investigations
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and compliance with current and pending legal regulations
  • Review employment/HR related contracts
  • Manage any potential or active litigation re: employment-related matters including, but not limited to, Title VII and FEHA, leaves of absence, wrongful termination, breach of contract, fraud, reductions in force, harassment, and wage and hour matters
  • Manage outside counsel/law firms handling certain employment and/or immigration matters
  • Engage strategically in risk assessment and mitigation and developing innovative approaches to legal issues in support of business objectives
  • Coordinate and work closely with the Legal, Finance, Corporate Development, HR, and Business Development teams, and outside counsels
  • Advise and support on corporate governance-related matters

Basic Qualifications

  • Admission to practice law in the State of California is required
  • 6-8 years in commercial transaction, corporate lawand related experience
  • Strong law firm or in-house experience/training required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience at a law firm or in-house (includes 2 years in corporate law)
  • Member of California Bar
  • Bilingual in English/Korean
