If you are a passionate Risk Professional seeking a challenging and rewarding career, this is the job for you!<br /><br />The Director within the Division Risk Officer (DRO) group of the Risk and Finance Strategic Operations department within Finance is seeking a Risk Control Senior. The Finance Division Risk officer is part of the 1st Line of Defense and responsible for establishing governance over operational risk management in the Finance division. Finance DRO is also responsible for leading the division-wide effort to comply with corporate requirements established under Enterprise Operational Risk Management framework including Corporate Policies and Standards.<br /><br />The Risk Control Senior role will assist the development of divisional operational risk standards and/or procedures, KRIs and KPIs to monitor the operational risks and reporting operational risk profile and issues. This role will also collaborate closely with Finance business area management, through on-going risk assessment and process design review, to help improve operational risk identification, assessment, management and documentation. The Risk Control Senior will work on diverse and sometime complex issues that are often time sensitive and have visibility within Finance .<br /><br /><strong>Your work will fall into two primary categories:<br /><br />Operational Risk Management Framework</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Support the development and reporting of Operational Key Risk Indicators and Key Performance Indicators for the Finance Division</li> <li>Support compliance/gap analysis against corporate policies and standards (e.g. business resiliency risk, information risks, vendor risk and compliance risk)</li> <li>Support the development of divisional operational risk standards and/or procedures to comply with corporate requirements</li> </ul> <br /><strong>1st Line of Defense (LOD) Operational Risk Management Activities</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Support the development of Finance self-testing plan and reporting on the execution status Assist the design review of Finance business processes to help improve process effectiveness and efficiency</li> <li>Assist the development Finance data governance framework to support Finance data management strategy</li> <li>Assist Finance efforts in compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g. FHFA requirements) and corporate requirements including issue remediation effort.</li> <li>Support the quarterly Finance Operational Risk Profile aggregation analysis process, including assisting with report production.</li> <li>Develop relationships across Finance departments.</li> <li>Negotiate and influence situations and people.</li> </ul> <br /><br /><b>Qualifications</b><br /><br /><strong>Qualifications</strong><br /> <ul> <li>5-7 years of related experience</li> <li>Bachelor's degree or combination of education and experience</li> <li>Solid understanding of Operational Risk Management Principles</li> <li>Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint)</li> <li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)</li> <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to details</li> <li>Strong project management skills</li> <li>Capable of working independently or within a collaborative team environment</li> </ul> <br /><strong>Keys to Success in this Role</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Strong interest in Operational Risk Management</li> <li>Team player with positive attitude</li> <li>Strong work ethic</li> <li>Capable of multi-tasking and delivering under pressure</li> </ul> <br /><strong>Top 3 Personal Competencies to Possess</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Drive for Execution – Focus on results rather than the appearance of results</li> <li>Customer Focus – Personally engage with internal customers and deliver as promised</li> <li>Partnership – Work effectively across teams and lines of defenses</li> </ul> <br /><br /><b>Preferred Skills</b><br /><br /><strong>Preferred Skills</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Advanced degree and/or certification including CPA, CIA, CISA, CFA.</li> <li>Experience in financial industry with good understanding of mortgage and mortgage back securities </li> </ul> <br /><br />Today, Freddie Mac makes home possible for one in four home borrowers and is one of the largest sources of financing for multifamily housing.
