<b>Duties</b><br /><br /><b>Summary</b><br /><br />The Defense Acquisition University (DAU) is the recognized leader as a corporate university, advancing the use of technology in all areas of education. Faculty members are "thinking partners" with customers and students, continuously improving product and service delivery to provide the right knowledge and skills at the point of need. This position is for a Professor of Program Management (International Acquisition), providing mission assistance, classroom offerings and on-line resources.<br /> Learn more about this agency <br /><br /><b>Responsibilities</b><br /><br />Provides intermediate and executive level instruction and facilitation regarding key considerations in creating international program strategies, in support of acquisition strategies. Expertise will support a portfolio of executive acquisition courses and other learning assets as needed for DOD civilian and military acquisition and security cooperation professionals. Consulting engagements support acquisition and security cooperation managers at the GS-14/15 and O-5/O-6 level, and Senior Executive Service members or flag/general officers.<br /><br />Contributes expertise in International Acquisition and Exportability (IA&E) considerations for acquisition programs, as part of designing and maintaining continuous learning (on line) assets to guide successful planning and execution across the life cycle of defense acquisition programs.<br /><br />Provides specialized consulting on IA&E in acquisition programs. Provides expertise to help design and lead workshops for acquisition teams promoting consideration of IA&E early in the acquisition life-cycles.<br /><br />Conducts instruction and mission assistance with respect to leadership and management positions in international acquisition programs, and participation in, and management of, key activities across the acquisition project life cycle.<br /><br />Builds relationships and collaborates with peers and acquisition management leaders from all organizations within their area of responsibility.<br /><br />Elicits feedback from customers, students and stakeholders to shape the content and delivery of learning assets to improve the customers' international acquisition outcomes.<br /><br />Creates learning asset content as needed, and coordinates with learning asset and technology divisions that manage related curriculum. <br /><br /><b>Travel Required</b><br /><br />Occasional travel – You will be expected to travel up to 25% for this position.<br /><br />Supervisory status <br /> No <br /><br />Promotion Potential <br /> 00 <br /><br /></li> <b>Requirements</b><br /><br /><b>Conditions of Employment</b><br /><br /><ul> </ul> <br /> <ul> <li>Must be a U.S. Citizen</li> <li>DAU participates in e-Verify with the DHS and USCIS</li> <li>Security Clearance: Secret</li> </ul> <br /><br /><b>Qualifications</b><br /><br /><b>You must have specialized experience directly relating to the specific duties of the position, and demonstrate that you have the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully.</b><br /><br />Must have specialized experience and skills in developing and implementing International Acquisition and Exportability strategies for defense programs and warfighting capabilities, or relatable industry experience. Must poses in depth knowledge of the legal and practical aspects of International Acquisition planning on defense programs. Also need knowledge of the current laws, regulations and policies associated with IA&E regulations. Subject Matter Expertise areas include but are not limited to: Technology Security and Foreign Disclosure and export controls; and International Acquisition transfer mechanisms – Foreign Military Sales, Direct Commercial Sales, and International Cooperative Programs.<br /><br />Delivery of Learning and Development programs: Ability to facilitate adult learning, including communicating (orally and in writing) complex international acquisition material to students with different backgrounds and experiences; proficiency in classroom or workplace instructional delivery to include guided discussions, lectures, facilitation of problem-based or case-based learning or other experiential approaches; ability to incorporate the learner's experience into the learning process along with the ability to motivate learners to actively participate; and the ability to organize information. Typical courses are 1 week duration. Instruction is both on campus and off site, which sometimes requires travel out of the area (Temporary Duty).<br /><br />Consulting: Ability to consult with DOD clients at various levels of experience and authority from mid-grade to general officers/SES, including but not limited to areas related to IA&E guiding the acquisition planning process and program execution.<br /><br />Learning Asset Management: Ability to develop and maintain both in-residence and online learning assets/products, for relevant career fields in the DoD Acquisition Workforce.
