Overview

Responsibilities include carrying out diverse skilled activities involving the repair and maintenance of equipment and facilities, designate and monitor the work of shop personnel and give support to the Director to achieve the completion of the tasks. Mentor and train technicians on diagnostic skills, efficiency in repairs, and proper technical procedures.
Provide technical support, manage shop and field work load, assigning jobs based on the technician’s capabilities
Take all incoming service repair calls and address customer technical questions & concerns in a timely manner
Schedule all service calls & customer billable service calls in a timely manner
Provide estimates for repairs on new & used equipment & execute work when approved by the New/Used equipment manager.
Create customer damage work orders & submit to Service Director for approval
Execute completion of preventative maintenance schedules on all equipment
Ensure all equipment is maintained to specifications & is in “Rent Ready” condition
Monitor Record360 transactions for all outgoing & incoming photos
Oversee lot tech to ensure equipment is organized, and lot is always clean and in order
Oversee check in of all equipment, and provide Rental Coordinator with check in sheets in a timely manner
Complete final inspection report on rental equipment & submit to Service Director
Responsible for maintaining and removal of all Precise systems
Check and approve all parts lists
Conduct monthly safety meetings-all documentation to be kept on file by Service Writer
Work with Rental Coordinator & Service Writer about availability of equipment and filling rental requests
Make sure the shop stays clean and safe and equipment & shop is secured daily before leaving
Provide training and set prep for rent standards; make sure checklists are being used
Collect all required warranty information at completion of repair and submit to Service Writer for claim submission
Keep track of all supplies and submit supply requisition to Parts Manager
Keep track of all in/out going drays
Update SmartSheet with progression notes
And all other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree preferred with minimum of five years management experience in construction equipment service and repair, or a minimum of ten years of management experience in construction equipment service and repair.
Minimum 5 years hands on mechanical experience in heavy equipment repair
Ability to use standard computer software applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and internet functions.
Good human relations and effective oral and written communication skills.
Basic understanding of financial principles relative to Service Department operations
Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports.
Extremely detail oriented.
