Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Provide support milestones and/or key events for new construction or complex overhaul and refueling of a ship; 2) Identify material requirements and coordinate fitting out material procurements in order to meet scheduled dates; 3) Coordinate development of Non-Nuclear and Nuclear critical material lists consisting of materials required as specified in a ship's schedule and Nuclear Procedural Milestone Plan (PMP); 4) Assist in negotiating whether Nuclear GFM and Fitting Out Material can be repaired or requires replacement; and 5) Resolve inaccurate material identification with vendors or contractor representatives. <br /><br /><strong>GS-7 LEVEL</strong> <br /> Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-5 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying knowledge of Material Management regulations, policies, and procedures in order to perform management of fitting out material procurements to ensure effective shipbuilding material support. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Perform management of fitting out material procurements for assigned ships in order to support objectives, key events, milestones, functions, policies and procedures; 2) Knowledge of Contractual requirements such as scheduling, acquisition, installation, and/or disposition relating to shipbuilding; 3) Use of computer programs in order to support identification and processing of requirements, recording of status, and receipt; and 4) Knowledge of budget policies and procedures relating to procurement/requisitioning of Nuclear Government Furnished Material (GFM) and Fitting out Material.<br /><br />Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management web site: http: www.opm.gov/qualifications/Standards/group-stds/gs-admin.asp .<br /><br />Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement.<br /><br />GS-09 COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements.<br /><br />GS-07 SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience: have successfully completed 1 full year of graduate level education, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position or have successfully completed a bachelor's degree in any field with superior academic achievement.
