Provide coding guidance for the coding team, following all coding and regulatory guidelines to ensure accurate, complete coding with optimal reimbursement. Works collaboratively with the coding, audit and clinical documentation improvement teams. Provides feedback to coding staff to help develop a high functioning team. Communicates with providers to resolve coding, billing, and documentation discrepancies. Must be able to research billing edits and rectify problematic accounts. Must have a thorough knowledge of payment methodologies, CCI and OCE edits and application of modifers. Assists manager with coding department meetings and huddles and coordinates staffing schedules. Acquires a thorough knowledge of coding system applications.
