Overview

The Nurse Manager will directly report to the Director and is responsible for operationalizing the strategic plan for their department. The Nurse Manager is responsible for ensuring the assessment, coordination, implementation and evaluation of the delivery of safe and effective patient-centered care. The Nurse Manager will facilitate, mentor and evaluate others to grow professionally and advance their knowledge and skills. In addition, the Nurse Manager will assess unit needs to ensure adequate resources are available. The Nurse Manager will demonstrate professionalism at all times and will uphold standards of practice by holding team members accountable for continued compliance in accordance with organizational goals and nursing mission and vision. The Nurse Manager is an integral part of the nursing leadership team and represents their department at all levels of the organization.<br /><br />Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics: <br />• Current Maryland State nursing license<br />• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate<br /><br />Education and Experience Required:<br />• Baccalaureate degree in nursing required, Master's degree preferred<br />• Five years' work experience in department-specific area, as defined by the department-specific certification requirements.<br />• Certification in department-specific area within the first year of the position<br />• Participation in professional organizations<br /><br />As a faith-based organization, with over a century of caring for the communities in the Maryland area, Adventist HealthCare has earned a reputation for high quality, compassionate care.
